What’s the Difference Between Junk Removal & Demo Services?
When your home or project site is full of stuff that needs to go, it’s not always clear whether you need junk removal or demolition services. At Junk Monkey, we offer both — but they serve different purposes. Here’s how to choose the right one for your job.
Junk Removal: Haul It and Go
Junk removal is the service you need when the items are already loose, unwanted, and ready to be hauled away. This includes:
- Furniture like couches, tables, and mattresses
- Appliances such as fridges, stoves, washers
- Boxes of clutter or garage overflow
- Yard waste and bagged debris
- Construction materials not attached to walls or floors
We come in, load everything up, and leave your space clean — usually within the same day.
Demo Services: Tear It Out and Haul It Off
Demo services involve structural or semi-structural removal — when we need tools and protective gear to safely tear things out. Common demo jobs include:
- Removing drywall and framing
- Tearing out built-in cabinets or countertops
- Flooring removal (tile, wood, carpet)
- Partial wall or ceiling demo
- Shed and small structure tear-downs
After demo, we also haul away all the debris, leaving your site broom-swept and ready for the next phase.
How to Know Which One You Need
Still not sure? Use this quick guide:
- Loose items? Go with junk removal.
- Built-in, attached, or part of the structure? Book demo services.
In many cases, we can handle both in the same visit.

What About Pricing?
Demo is typically billed hourly with a flat dump fee, while junk removal is often flat-rate per item or per trailer load. For a transparent look at how we price things, check out:
